I've been singing in bands since 2004 at a variety of gigs, including pubs, clubs and private bookings of weddings and birthdays. My influences are the “Clash”, Stevie Ray Vaughn”, “The Pretenders”and the Blues.
I enjoy singing most styles and with” WYTCHHAZEL”we cover music from the sixties to modern day.

Jim Lead/Rhythm Guitar
I started out in the late sixties playing acoustic music in local club’s around the Accrington area of Lancashire.Later, I played electric guitar in the cult Lancashire band
“Francis T Construction” who quite often had Jon Anderson as a guest singer who then went on to form the band “Yes”.
After two years with the band I left Accrington and moved to Reading and joined the remnants of the Reading band “The Memphis Gents”and formed a new band “National Hothouse”.Following several months of touring the south of England “National Hothouse” were asked to become the backing band to legendary Tamla Motown singer Edwin Starr and completed a lengthy tour of the whole country.
After taking a long break from the music business to run a building company and raise a family,I decided to go into music again.
With a few old friends we put together a band called “Something For The Weekend” and performed all around the Berkshire area for a few years until after some personnel changes evolved into the current band “Wytchhazel” |

Graham Bass Guitar
Has been involved in music all of his life from the age of 13 playing bass in the local Youth Clubs and pubs around Reading.
He then moved on to play tenor saxophone with Reading band
The Memphis Gents playing many of the main venue’s in the South East of England.
In the sixties he met Jim (Guitar) from Accrington and the Band renamed and became the National Hot House in which they toured England with the late Edwin Starr after the tour i spent some time teaching saxophone and joined Blues Cruise
Time passed by and we had a bit of a rest before meeting up with Jim again and joining the band For The Weekend playing keyboards before forming the latest band Wytchhazel this time on bass it seems I have been round in a circle but I’m still playing music and get the buzz.
Hope to see you soon. |

Colin Driums / Percussion
Inspired at an early age by the likes of “Alice Cooper”,”The Who”and “David Bowie”,started off on guitar, then to bass guitar before finally settling on drums.
I worked my way through my mum’s knitting needles before buying a second hand drum kit and moving on to join various rock bands.
Mostly self taught after playing the local pubs and clubs for a number of years started taking the drums seriously.I was tutored by Derek Davidson who was the percussionist for the “Welsh National Opera”and then by Lloyd Ryan(London),I worked semi-pro for the next 8 years in various dance and function bands playing London hotels(dinner dances) and south west pubs and clubs.
After a break from music to further a career in engineering,I have now returned to music and the wonders of modern technology;experimenting with Roland electronic drums, writing my own drum scores, recording and teaching.
Having known Graham (bass)for many years was more than happy to take the vacant drum stool for the band “Wytchhazel”.
